Dining etiquette according to Islam
1- : First of all, the food must be permissible (Halal). It is not only important that you must not eat harmful food, but also the food should be acquired in a legal way. Thus, pork is forbidden, but what about lamb, for example? Although it is permissible, it may be the opposite if it was acquired illegally, such as fraud and theft. Moreover, it is forbidden to eat disgusting food such as dogs, cats and donkeys...
2- : Washing hands before eating, hygiene is very important.
3- Sitting to eat.. Therefore, eating reclining or on one side is not part of dining etiquette.
4- : Avoid gluttony. One should eat his food slowly and chew it well. Before that, he should not extend his hand to food unless he feels hungry.
5- : Say “In the name of God”(Bissmillah) before starting to eat, and “Praise be to God” (Hamdulillah) when finishing.
6- : Eat with the right hand.
7- : Do not throw away what is left of the food (warning against wasting food).
